| 1. | Wal’aadi yaati dabha | By the (Steeds) that run, with panting (breath), | وَالْعَادِيَاتِ ضَبْحًا |
| 2. | Fal moori yaati qadha | And strike sparks of fire, | فَالْمُورِيَاتِ قَدْحًا |
| 3. | Fal mugheeraati subha | And push home the charge in the morning, | فَالْمُغِيرَاتِ صُبْحًا |
| 4. | Fa atharna bihee naq’a | And raise the dust in clouds the while, | فَأَثَرْنَ بِهِ نَقْعًا |
| 5. | Fawa satna bihee jam’a | And penetrate forthwith into the midst (of the foe) en masse;- | فَوَسَطْنَ بِهِ جَمْعًا |
| 6. | Innal-insana lirabbihee lakanood | Truly man is, to his Lord, ungrateful; | إِنَّ الْإِنْسَانَ لِرَبِّهِ لَكَنُودٌ |
| 7. | Wa innahu ‘alaa zaalika la shaheed | And to that (fact) he bears witness (by his deeds); | وَإِنَّهُ عَلَىٰ ذَٰلِكَ لَشَهِيدٌ |
| 8. | Wa innahu lihubbil khairi la shadeed | And violent is he in his love of wealth. | وَإِنَّهُ لِحُبِّ الْخَيْرِ لَشَدِيدٌ |
| 9. | Afala ya’lamu iza b’uthira ma filquboor | Does he not know,- when that which is in the graves is scattered abroad | أَفَلَا يَعْلَمُ إِذَا بُعْثِرَ مَا فِي الْقُبُورِ |
| 10. | Wa hussila maa fis sudoor | And that which is (locked up) in (human) breasts is made manifest- | وَحُصِّلَ مَا فِي الصُّدُورِ |
| 11. | Inna rabbahum bihim yauma ‘izin lakhabeer | That their Lord had been Well-acquainted with them, (even to) that Day? | إِنَّ رَبَّهُمْ بِهِمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ لَخَبِيرٌ |
